Starting EOS-Trader
When you start EOS-Trader, it loads the settings from the previous session.
To start EOS-Trader
1. Run EOS-Trader.exe by double-clicking it. A dialog box appears.
2. Type the user ID, password, and member ID.
3. Click OK.

Exiting EOS-Trader
Each time you exit EOS-Trader, the main window is automatically saved. The next time you open EOS-Trader, it will appear exactly as it was when it was last closed.
To exit EOS-Trader
There are several ways to exit EOS-Trader. Do any of the following:
• In the main window, click
in the upper right corner.
• On the File menu, click Exit.
• Press [ALT]+[F4].
Note: If you have set warnings for when exiting, a dialog box might appear before exit. See Preferences dialog box (General) |

Quick-locking EOS-Trader
It is possible to instantly lock EOS-Trader to prevent unauthorized access. This feature is useful if you quickly want to lock EOS-Trader when leaving your work station. To open EOS-Trader, you use your normal login password. You can also have an automatic lock that locks EOS-Trader after a set time of your choice.
No trading activity is visible when the lock screen is on.
To quick lock EOS-Trader
• On the File menu, click Lock Application.

To change lock settings
1. On the Window menu, click Preferences. A dialog box appears.
2. Double-click on General and click on Lock and Shutdown in the tree to the left.
3. Enter a time, in minutes, in Lockout time (see Preferences dialog box (General)).
4. Click OK.
Changing password
The password restriction is configurable and can be changed at any time. Please contact your market operations representative at your exchange to receive information about the requirements.
To change the password
1. On the File menu, click Change Password.

2. Type the current password.
3. Type the new password and then confirm it.
4. Click OK.

Touring EOS-Trader
The EOS-Trader main window contains one or more perspectives. Perspectives contain views and editors and control what appears in certain menus and toolbars.
The main window, its menus, and toolbars are further described in the following sections:

Main window
When you start EOS-Trader, the main window is opened (which default perspective that opens depends on your installation). From the main window you reach all the perspectives of EOS-Trader (see Perspectives bar).

Click on a bubble in the figure to get an explanation of the various parts of the main window.

Title bar
The title bar shows information about the application, user, and IP address.

Menus
At the top of the window is a menu bar with a number of menus.

File menu
The File menu contains commands for saving changes, changing password, and exiting EOS-Trader.

Opens the Change Password dialog box where you can change password. |

Quickly locks EOS-Trader. Unlock it with your normal login password (see Quick-locking EOS-Trader). |

Watch List menu
The Watch List menu contains commands for creating and opening watchlists.

Open |
Opens a menu containing the command New and, if there are any open watchlists, the names of them. Clicking New opens the New Watch List dialog box where you can create your own watchlist. |

Opens a dialog box where you can create a new watch list (see Creating watch lists). |
Window menu
The Window menu contains commands for opening new windows of EOS-Trader, showing views and the inbox, for displaying messages, managing perspectives, and setting preferences.

Opens a new EOS-Trader window. |
Open Perspective |
Opens a menu containing the command Other. Clicking Other opens the Open Perspective dialog box, where you can select a perspective to open. |
Show View |
Opens a menu containing the command Other and names of views logically connected to the active perspective. Clicking a view name shows the corresponding view, while clicking Other opens the Show View dialog box, where you can select any view to show. |
Show Inbox |
Shows the Inbox view. |
Show Positions |
Opens the Positions view. |
Show Message Tracker |
Opens the Message Tracker tab. |
Save Perspective As |
Opens a dialog box where you can set a name of the perspective (see Creating your own perspectives). |
Reset Perspective |
Resets the perspective to the default settings (see Resetting perspectives). |
Close Perspective |
Closes the active perspective (see Closing perspectives). |
Close All Perspectives |
Closes all perspectives. |
Preferences |

The Help menu contains commands for showing help, information about EOS-Trader and showing error messages.

Perspectives bar
In the Perspectives bar, all open perspectives have a toolbar button for easy access.
Note: The perspectives can vary between installations. That means that you might not have all the perspectives shown in this figure. |

To open a perspective
Do any of the following:
- Click Window > Open Perspective > Other. A dialog box appears.
- Select the perspective name and click OK.
- Click
and then select other. A dialog box appears. - Select the perspective name and click OK.
To move the perspectives bar
- Right-click anywhere on the perspective bar.
- In the shortcut menu that appears, click Dock On and select either one of the following:
- Top Right—the perspectives bar will be located to the very top and right of the main window.
- Top Left—the perspectives bar will be located in the default place of the main window.
- Left—the perspectives bar will be located to the left and down in the main window.
To show only the perspective icon
- Right-click anywhere on the perspective bar.
- In the shortcut menu that appears, click the checked Show Text option.
